5.0 out of 5 stars great fabric, July 23, 2011
This review is from: Maxi-Cosi Mico Infant Car Seat, Total Black (Baby Product)
We hated our Graco car seat for my son. So, we looked for a new seat for my second child. Safety, comfort and the feel of the fabric was very important to me. Our baby is an August baby, so I was looking for something she can seat in with short sleeves and shorts rubbing her skin to the car seat and not get scratched and be able to breathe. I looked at all models, Chicco, Graco, PegPreggo and Maxi Cosi (this year's model, I am not sure about old versions) was the best. It has a cotton feel and much nicer and more breathable than all others. It is not for families with big kids because the max weight is 22lb. However, I don't like to carry a big baby in a car seat anyway. So, I will move her to a big rear facing car seat when she hits 22lb. On the down side, it is harder than Chicco to put in the base. Taking out for both of them is easy. You have to make sure the handle is out, otherwise, it won't click. For Chicco, you don't need to check anything. This is, I guess, very important,... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT car seat all around, September 23, 2011

This is a great car seat. I requested it on my baby registry and am so happy someone actually bought it. I have it in sugar coral for my baby girl. I use it with the Quinny stroller. This car seat is made very well. I love the feel of the fabric and the ease of use. I have no troubles with washing the seat cover or adjusting the straps. My baby grew quickly and you just push a button and the straps adjust easily. My baby sleeps in it for hours and she is quite content. Great product, easy to use, looks great, and comes in awesome colors!

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome infant carrier!, February 24, 2012

We have this infant carrier in Steel Gray for our daughter. The color is slightly darker than what is pictured, but is very nice looking. Hands down, I love this carseat, here's why:
- the fabric is very nice as has good padding.
- easy to remove the cover for cleaning. (My daughter spit up all over herself and the seat, but I was able to easily remove the harness straps and the cover and hand wash everything (machine wash is not recommended), I then rolled the cover in a towel to dry it as much as I could and put it in the dryer on low heat to fully dry)
- seat is very lightweight. I think it's about 8 pounds
- the handle is a smooth seamless piece and is comfortable to grip.
- the handle can be in any locked position while in the car (according to the maxi-cosi website).
- the giant warning label about airbags, carseats, and putting kids in the back was sewn onto the side of the seat instead of thermal printed. I was able to remove the label easily. (I... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Haven't had it long, but great so far, June 7, 2007

This review is from: Panasonic DVD-LS82 8.5" Portable DVD Player with Headrest Kit (Electronics)
I finally decided to get a portable DVD player as I had some long car rides coming up and a 6 and 11 year old. My first forays into research were discouraging as every model seemed to have its admirers and detesters. This version didn't have much written about it, but Panasonic seemed to have a decent reputation. I was actually going to by the LG model I saw, but it was so new, I had no info, and while at the store, the clerk couldn't figure out how to work it. Then I was going to get the Sony, but the screen glare with the screen protector on it didn't appeal to me. So, I grabbed this one and it has worked like a charm. It feels sturdy, has a great picture, and the sound is quite nice. I don't understand the person who couldn't hear it with the headphones on. Maybe he had bad headphones, and there is also a menu on the player that allows you to choose headphone sound, although my headphones worked when it was on regular sound. Plus the first night, something spilled over the... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars After going through 3 portables , Im satisfied., November 25, 2007
By
Sacker "Sacker" (Honolulu, HI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Panasonic DVD-LS82 8.5" Portable DVD Player with Headrest Kit (Electronics)
This is a lightweight product: Panasonic LS82 vs Philips 855 vs Sony Fx 810.

I have so far tested out Philips DVP855/37. I really loved it, except that once the internal battery dies, your out of luck, unless your in the warranty range, in which they will replace the entire unit, thier standard warranty is for 12 months, no extended warranty available. Disposable DVD Player? No thanks.

I have so far tested out the Sony FX810/R. This was quite limiting that the technologies were in end of 2005/mid2006. It played some of the DivX, but not any with DTS or complex audios. The weight was solid, for a tiny player. The Resolutions fair, but nothing to be excited about, in all thier formats. Sound quality was alright, it really just depends on your headset for any device really. It's better to wait for the FX850's that aren't in USA yet. I'm suspecting that the OLEDS LCD screens gonna hit the market next year in 3rd quarter sometime. (HDNA's, protypes that came out in... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars A good value in a portable, April 9, 2007
By

This review is from: Panasonic DVD-LS82 8.5" Portable DVD Player with Headrest Kit (Electronics)
I bought this player for a recent trip with a small child (so it's not really for me, unless you count the value of distracting the kid on a long flight). It's pretty lightweight and compact, especially compared to the Toshiba SD-P2900 10.2 Inch Portable DVD Player I bought and then exchanged for this one), so it's easy to tote.

Other nice features: Flexible hinges let you orient the screen in several different ways, even flat against the deck, so it's really great in confined spaces like a coach-class airline seat. It comes with a car DC adapter and an adapter to attach the player to the back of a car's front seat; it's very secure, and unlike those bags that are made to hold players on seats, the adapter is compact, so it's not banging around when the player's not attached, and the player's flexible hinges let you adjust... 5.0 out of 5 stars Don't let the price fool you!!!!! Its a very safe car seat :-), April 2, 2010

This review is from: Safety 1st Designer 22 Infant Car Seat, Nordica (Baby Product)
I research car seats extensively. I have four kids and only want the safest stuff for them, not the most expensive, but the car seats that will protect them the most. This one was highly rated by Consumer reports, whom I trust, with their testing and the price is reasonable. In fact, it was the only one with an EXCELLENT rating for protection. That made it a no-brainer for me. It is very nice easthetically too and will look great in your car installed.

This infant seat is excellent. It is rated as a top recommendation by Consumer Reports. Price is a lot lower than comparable products - excellent value. The Infant carrier and base are "Made in USA". The cover is Made in China.
The seat feels very sturdy and is relatively easy to install following the instructions.

I literally spent months researching what car seats to get. I am having twins which adds to the stress. At first I was going to purchase Graco Snugride but I kept getting mixed reviews. Once I came along this stroller I couldn't believe the ratings along side the price. I don't understand how people can spend over $100 thinking the more they spend the safer the seat. This car seat is sturdy and easy to use. It feels very secure in our car since we are using the latch belt. Thankfully this seat also will fit into our duo stroller which is a bonus! (Kolcraft Contours Duo Stroller) When it was delivered there was nothing wrong with it so it definitely holds up with shipping. In my opinion you can not beat the price for the quality and safety you are getting.
