The price paid for this convertible car seat is exactly the kind of quality you'll receive. So whether or not it's a good or bad thing, at least in essence you get what you pay for.

This "Safety 1st Complete Air 65 SE Protect Convertible Car Seat" is essentially the same product as the "Safety 1st Air Protect Complete Air SE Convertible Car Seat" which has been re-certified for a higher maximum weight of 65lbs.

Coming from the Orbit Baby G2 Infant car seat (and American company) where every piece speaks of high-end quality from the solid plastic construction down to the foam and fabric that's certified Oeko-Tex Standard 100 (European organization) that's certified free of harmful substances and safe for your baby. I wanted to upgrade to the Orbit Baby G2 Toddler car seat, but it wasn't certified for Canadian use. So off I went looking for another car seat.

After comparing high and low priced car seats from other reviewers as well as in stores, I set my... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Purchase, August 5, 2011
This review is from: Safety 1st Complete Air 65 SE Protect Convertible Car Seat (Baby Product)
I did a lot of research before buying this product. I love it and so does my daughter. The extra cushion makes it comfortable and not super hard like some other car seats. When it says recline it only stays reclined in one position when installed in the car. If you want to change the recline position you have to unlatch the car seat and change the recline position. Not a big deal for me though cause I just keep it reclined. My only "negative" comment is I wish someone made a car seat cover for it. I've tried other ones and none of them fit because of the "wings". Not a big deal but it would be nice. Overall great buy!

We have had this for about a month now, and our little one loves it. He is very comfortable in the seat and with the type of fabric is very easy to clean. The air protectors act as good pillows for him to sleep on. Would definitely recommend this seat to anyone who needs a convertible seat. I do think that if you have a small car it might be a little big, but with our suburban it fits nicely.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Carseat, Great Price, August 11, 2011
By
I bought this car seat for my one-year old who outgrew his Graco infant seat, but still needs to remain rear-facing as long as possible. He is over 25 pounds and fits nicely in this seat. He seems very comfortable and the seat is blessedly light when we fly with it. I am buying two more of them - one for our second car and one for the babysitter's car. I personally think that there is no reason to spend $200 on a heavy behemoth of a carseat (we did the Britax with my oldest and regretted it) when this seat is comfortable, easy to install, and fits great in the car. The only two things that I can think that someone would complain about are: 1) The straps adjust only from one side, so you have to tug a bit on the opposite strap to bring the slack out and 2) there is a stand that comes down in the back when used rear-facing. When not in the car (just standing in the garage while setting it up), that stand had a tendency to collapse. This has never happened when the car seat was in the... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Carseat for the price!, May 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This is a terrific carseat for the price. We have a Britax Roundabout and were looking for something lower in price, but just as safe for our second carseat. The cushioning is definitely not as plush as the Britax, but it's a sturdy carseat that my little seems to love. The only disappointment was that I happened to find it cheaper at Walmart after I had already purchased it through Amazon. I was not very happy with the shipping. It was left on our front porch in 1 large box with the marking of what it was. The box was all bent up, and damp because they left it in the rain. Luckily, my neighbor grabbed it and took it in because the seat within the box was not even wrapped in plastic! This could have been ruined by water damage had my neighbor not had the thought to bring it inside.

Regardless, we are very happy with the car seat and our daughter seems to be very comfortable and safe.

5.0 out of 5 stars Haven't had it long, but great so far, June 7, 2007

This review is from: Panasonic DVD-LS82 8.5" Portable DVD Player with Headrest Kit (Electronics)
I finally decided to get a portable DVD player as I had some long car rides coming up and a 6 and 11 year old. My first forays into research were discouraging as every model seemed to have its admirers and detesters. This version didn't have much written about it, but Panasonic seemed to have a decent reputation. I was actually going to by the LG model I saw, but it was so new, I had no info, and while at the store, the clerk couldn't figure out how to work it. Then I was going to get the Sony, but the screen glare with the screen protector on it didn't appeal to me. So, I grabbed this one and it has worked like a charm. It feels sturdy, has a great picture, and the sound is quite nice. I don't understand the person who couldn't hear it with the headphones on. Maybe he had bad headphones, and there is also a menu on the player that allows you to choose headphone sound, although my headphones worked when it was on regular sound. Plus the first night, something spilled over the... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars After going through 3 portables , Im satisfied., November 25, 2007

This is a lightweight product: Panasonic LS82 vs Philips 855 vs Sony Fx 810.

I have so far tested out Philips DVP855/37. I really loved it, except that once the internal battery dies, your out of luck, unless your in the warranty range, in which they will replace the entire unit, thier standard warranty is for 12 months, no extended warranty available. Disposable DVD Player? No thanks.

I have so far tested out the Sony FX810/R. This was quite limiting that the technologies were in end of 2005/mid2006. It played some of the DivX, but not any with DTS or complex audios. The weight was solid, for a tiny player. The Resolutions fair, but nothing to be excited about, in all thier formats. Sound quality was alright, it really just depends on your headset for any device really. It's better to wait for the FX850's that aren't in USA yet. I'm suspecting that the OLEDS LCD screens gonna hit the market next year in 3rd quarter sometime. (HDNA's, protypes that came out in... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars A good value in a portable, April 9, 2007

This review is from: Panasonic DVD-LS82 8.5" Portable DVD Player with Headrest Kit (Electronics)
I bought this player for a recent trip with a small child (so it's not really for me, unless you count the value of distracting the kid on a long flight). It's pretty lightweight and compact, especially compared to the Toshiba SD-P2900 10.2 Inch Portable DVD Player I bought and then exchanged for this one), so it's easy to tote.

Other nice features: Flexible hinges let you orient the screen in several different ways, even flat against the deck, so it's really great in confined spaces like a coach-class airline seat. It comes with a car DC adapter and an adapter to attach the player to the back of a car's front seat; it's very secure, and unlike those bags that are made to hold players on seats, the adapter is compact, so it's not banging around when the player's not attached, and the player's flexible hinges let you adjust...
