This review is from: Cosco Juvenile Pronto Belt Positioning Booster Seat, Eldorado (Baby Product) I have two grandchildren ages 5 and 4. I had booster seats for them but I didn't like the way the seat belt went around their necks. So I decided to purchase a car seat that would hold the strap in place. This was easy to assemble and it held the seat belt lower so that the fear of them being choked by it is now resolved. They love the drink holder and cannot wait to go into Grammy's car. It does leave little room in between the back seats, but I purchased it for safety so it works. This is helpful if you have an independent child who insists on seating & belting themselves - those armrests can get in the way during the climbing process and make it harder for them to buckle the seatbelt. I didn't realize how important that was until I bought this booster. On the plus side, this chair seems comfortable and well-proportioned. Quality is decent and cupholders are always useful. Both units fail after adjusting the harness adjustment strap (pg. 8 of instruction book). The failure is this, after an adjustment is made, the harness release lever fails to cinch down tight enough on the harness adjustment strap to prevent slippage of the strap. I have made adjustments then placed my arm in the harness and pulled the harness adjustment strap loose enough to cause serious compromise to occupant safety. I have repeated this several times on both seats. Since contacting Consumers Reports, U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Dorel Juvenile Group (manufacturer of the seats) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Dorel Juvenile Group agreed to send me two more seats in exchange for the defective seats. I received the two replacement seats February 1, 2010. Upon inspection, I immediately noticed one of the two seats exhibits the same failure as the original... My son is just over 3, but he still needs a 5 point harness, and I wanted him to be able to use it after he's 4 too. He really likes it because he feel like its a big boy seat. I like the color. The only downside is that the straps get a little tangled sometimes, but that's easy to fix. It's also a little difficult to get the release button down--my son can't do it himself (maybe that's a good thing!)and it takes me two hands sometimes. Our Britax car seat didn't have those problems, but for the price this is great. Exactly what my daughter, who is small for her age, needs. We think she might be in it a long time since she might not hit the 40 lb. requirement for Ohio until she's 14. But she likes it; we like it. And it comes in a great range of colors, although she was hoping for pink... Good value for the price and safe to boot!
