This car seat is recommended by Consumer Reports as being a good seat for the price. I agree. However, there are tradeoffs with this lower-cost seat. Our 5-month old, who is almost able to sit up independently, was uncomfortable with the 90 degree angle of the seat. The solution - stuff a small towel under the front of the seat, creating an incline. This left my baby comfortable, but me worried, since jerry-rigging car seats seems a bit risky. The front clasp is also a bit counter-intuitive and hard to pull apart. My baby also missed the padding on the shoulder strap that makes it so easy to flop her head and take a nap in her Britax car seat at home. I also have trouble picturing how an infant could comfortably fit in this car seat since it is so upright and there is no infant padding insert. My daughter has room to grow.
